Just Another Day at the Farm.
For the Larsons, every day is filled with fun and family but they understand the value of hard work and dedication.
Our Yesterday Meat and Produce Farm, located in Mediapolis, Iowa, is a five-generation farm owned by the Larson family. They raise Angus cattle and purebred Hampshire Hogs that are non-GMO and free of hormones and preventative antibiotics. These animals are raised in a comfortable environment with access to fresh water, food, shelter, and the natural environment. The Larson family takes pride in their practice of sustainable farming that has occurred on their farm for the past 50 years.
"My grandpa lived during that time period and we just like to preserve our heritage
and the way farming was done and continue that, which is kind of the opposite of
what people are doing but its really the best, ultimately."
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
Fresh, locally grown produce at your doorstep year round!
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is an arrangement that connects farmers to local customers who want fresh produce. Our Yesterday Farm provides CSA customers with fresh shares of produce and specialty meat cuts year round. These include all-natural meats raised with out hormones or preventative antibiotics, non-GMO corn-fed Angus beef roasts, steaks and ground beef; as well as purebred Hampshire pork chops, sausage, brats, and bacon. They also offer membership-free bundle options that range from 10-50 lbs. Bundle options include beef, pork, ground beef, sausage, smoking and grilling bundles. CSA products and bundles can be picked up at the farm or they can be hand-delivered at your doorstep!
The Larson family supports local businesses and are passionate about helping and educating the local community. In addition to their business, their farm includes a non-profit component by offering educational opportunities for the community. Every autumn, the Larson family holds an annual celebration called Harvest Celebration Day for the community to attend. This is a free, all-day event that takes place on the third Sunday in October. Over 300 members of the community attend this event with lots of fun activities for adults and children. Breakfast is served in the morning which is followed by a church service. In addition you can also count on a provided meal, pie judging contest, harvesting Indian corn, hay-rack rides, and members of the community can bring a dish to share!
